OneVoiceRIA Promotes Public Awareness
One of the FPA NexGen members posted a message to the general email list about a new initiative called OneVoiceRIA. The primary goal of OneVoiceRIA is to raise public awareness of Registered Investment Advisers.
Visit OneVoiceRIA at their website, www.onevoiceria.com.
The organizers of OneVoiceRIA include:
- Chris Cordaro, a founder of RegentAtlantic
- Tom Orecchio, Chairman of NAPFA
- Gobind Daryanani, co-creator of iRebal
- Paula Hogan, Board of Directors of NAPFA
Here is a message from Chris Cordaro:
Our goal is to create a public awareness effort to promote RIAs in the same way the Dairy Council tells us “Got Milk” or that Intel reminds us to check to see if “Intel Inside”. Our first step is fund raising, registration and hiring of a brand awareness firm. We are asking each advisor in RIA firms to register at a cost of $25. The sum helps our efforts, but is nominal, what we are really looking for is buy-in. We are also seeking support from FPA, NAPFA and the four major RIA custodians (Schwab, TDA, Fidelity and Pershing).
Please tell your friends in other RIA firms and anyone in the industry. If each of us working in RIA firms just said, “we are here, we are here” our collective voices would get Horton to hear who we are. RIAs have only 16% awareness among high net worth individuals. That means only 16% of our target market knows what an RIA is and has heard of one.
I would add that awareness is low among ALL individuals, not just with high net worth individuals. Registered Investment Advisers do more than just service high net worth individuals. There are many firms that excel in service for people regardless of their net worth, and it’s important to communicate that message to the public.
Join in this effort and pass the information along to your colleagues who you think might also be interested.
