About wireless keyboards & mice. If you want an eye opener try a google search on "Security issues with wireless keyboards". I now understand why my wife's company has banned wireless keyboard & mice. Scary.

I totally agree about the keyboard/mouse pick Bill! I believe you could receive up to 80-90% of the productivity improvement by purchasing a similar, but _much_ cheaper keyboard/mouse combination. Never mind that you might be much better off in the long run with an ergonomical keyboard like the Microsoft Natural Ergonomical Keyboard 4000.

I shudder to think that the best hardware product for the year--for the entire Financial Planning industry--was a wireless keyboard/mouse.

Hi Bill,

I just came across your blogsite -- nicely done! I think the wireless keyboard and mouse is a bit of a stretch, myself. I would have gone with my fave new hardware -- the Thinkpad X61 tablet edition. Not cost prohibitive, and a huge boost to mobility and productivity.

On a personal tangent, I am currently working on my MS in Financial Planning, and will sit for the CFP in Mar 09. I also lead the technology and business analysis and reporting efforts at a large planned-giving (estate gifts) operation. Thanks for the blog, it is very enjoyable to find content that blends technology and Planning.

Any advice for a newbie who is crossing these skill-sets, or for taking the exam?

Happy Holidays!
