ScanSnap Manager V7 makes older ScanSnap hardware like my S1500 compatible with 64-bit Mac OS operating systems
Back in 2016, I updated one of my posts about the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 compatibility with Mac OS X Mavericks so that my workhorse of a scanner can still be used with modern software without having to decommission the scanner and purchase a new one.
I hesitated updating Mac OS X beyond High Sierra on my desktop machine strictly to maintain functionality of my ScanSnap S1500.
ScanSnap Manager V7
With the recent release of ScanSnap Manager V7, Fujitsu now offers 64-bit software compatible with the latest versions of Mac OS X, including Sierra, Catalina, and Monterey.

I started a FPPad as a virtual consulting business full-time in 2009, so I’ve been leveraging remote meetings and video conferences for over a decade.
Given the sudden increase in work-from-home flexibility, I’m publishing a quick list of my top suggestions to improve virtual meetings and live stream video broadcasts.
Have any suggestions or questions? The best place is to ask me on Twitter, I’m @BillWinterberg.
Bill Winterberg’s Remote Video Tips
A good background, mainly clean of clutter, matters and minimizes viewer distractions
Know how to lock your camera’s focus and exposure settings (which also minimizes distractions)
One decent light shining on your face, or sitting in front of a window for natural light, makes a huge difference
Stand up whenever possible; it increases your energy and your lung capacity when speaking
Avoid using your laptop’s webcam when working on a desk, as it generally points up into your nose. Raise the laptop to eye level whenever possible
Know how to share slides, your desktop, or other visual aids to break up the visual monotony. When sharing your desktop, know how to disable or hide your desktop-based popup notifications
Look at your camera, not your screen, when talking as it better engages your viewer with “eye contact.” If you need it, place a Post It note next to your camera that has a big arrow pointing at the camera and says “LOOK HERE (and 😃)”
If you wear a headset or headphones, run the cord BEHIND your head and back instead of dangling in front of your shoulders (again, another distraction to avoid)

I first met Sarah Stanley Fallaw, Ph.D., founder and president of DataPoints®, in 2016 as the company is based in Atlanta, making it super convenient to connect. As I learned about the financial technology startup’s value proposition of introducing behavioral science tools into the business of financial planners and coaches, I encouraged them to apply to the XY Planning Network’s first fintech competition. While they didn’t win that year’s competition, DataPoints® presented along with five other finalists to XY Planning Network attendees and received immediate feedback from those interested in adopting behavioral science tools.
Behavioral Science Tools
Fast forward to today, as DataPoints® is now in production as software solution designed to help financial planners and coaches add behavioral science to the services they offer to clients. I met with Sarah Fallaw, Ph.D., founder and president of DataPoints®, to learn about her background and how she’s bringing decades of research and industrial psychology principles to the domain of financial services to improve the outcomes of clients and investors.
Watch the demo video embedded above to learn how adopting the DataPoints® tools can facilitate conversations and planning strategies that can help your clients meet their goals.
